We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager FP&A to join our FP&A team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our R&D organisation, which will include the Engineering teams. You will create Headcount reconciliations, spend management for different leaders, maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing financial support for the Engineering Department. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A you'll be responsible for:
- Be a key business partner to the Engineering leadership providing financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making & manage headcount planning and reconciliation for engineering roles, including full-time employees, contractors, and consultants
- Work closely with HR and engineering managers to track hiring and headcount costs & Provide financial oversight on engineering projects, including resource allocation, cost tracking, and return on investment (ROI) analysis for both ongoing and future engineering initiatives.
- Support the capitalization of engineering-related expenses such as software development (IUSW) and hardware procurement, working with accounting to ensure financial treatment
- Prepare detailed monthly & quarterly reports specific to engineering operations, including variance analysis on project spend, R&D allocation, and resource utilization
- Deliver regular financial updates to the engineering leadership team, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and budget adherence & create financial models to assess the long-term financial impact of engineering projects, new technology adoption, or strategic shifts in product development.
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Master's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CA, CPA, MBA) with minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis or related roles, with a strong track record of success.
- Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to extract and analyse data from databases..
- Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis, with advanced skills in Excel & Analytical skills, with the ability to dig into data and uncover underlying reasons and trends
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Previous experience in FP&A. Exposure to Engineering teams will be a big plus.
- Proven ability to collaborate with non-financial business partners, providing insights and guidance to help them understand the financial impact of their decisions.
