We're looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE, Platform & Tooling team. Reporting to the Senior Director, you'll be responsible for:

  • You will oversee an experienced group of engineers responsible for developing the infrastructure, tools, services, and platforms that power Zscaler's cloud operations.
  • You will drive projects to enhance observability, automation, and reliability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable services, while mentoring and developing your team members.

Job Location - Bangalore / Hyderabad

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, Cloud-SRE/DevOps/System Engineering Field, with at least 2 years in a Managerial role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SRE and software development, with a understanding of infrastructure management, observability, automation, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, and Shell scripting, with expertise in Linux and FreeBSD. Development experience with front-end frameworks like React/Angular (UI) and back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Java Spring Boot, and Node.js. Experienced in using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and other SRE tools.
  • Oversee the design of scalable portals and AI Co-Pilot solutions to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. Collaborate with product, operations, and security teams to integrate and deploy new tools and features, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for SRE Platform and Tooling, aligning with Zscaler's goals and technological advancements.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions to support Zscaler's cloud services, while improving the development of systems for monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting. Promote automation and orchestration across the organization.
  • Lead efforts to maintain and evolve CD platforms and configuration management tools, ensuring minimal human intervention and streamlined operations, while promoting Chaos Engineering practices to enhance resilience and scalability within our infrastructure and applications.
